Saturday Stories

14 year old boy: What are we watching?

Sean: Elf.

14 year old boy: Isn’t that a bad movie?

Sean: What do you mean? What’s bad about it?

14 year old boy: It has cursing?

Sean: So cursing is bad?

The boy sat there with a stunned face turning into a smirk of “he just caught me in my own hypocrisy.”

We got to go as a church up in the mountains about 3 hours away to a place called Big Bear. A church hosted us and really showed us all great love. They provided the place to sleep, food and even an opportunity to go tubing in the snow. I went down the hill many times with some kids and even adults who had never seen the snow. It was a blast and at one point I saw a young adult about 19 at the bottom of the hill just playing in the snow. The joy combined with community was an awesome time to build friendships with people we may only get to see on a Sunday service.

One of the best ways we can connect with people is through stories. We’re going to try to post a few stories every week from our life. We aren’t anything special, the foolishness of the cross is why we do this. These are just little pictures to point you to Jesus.

  1. Sean & Allison,
I loved your stories! I love how God can uses children to teach us and enlighten us! Seeing ourselves through their eyes & heart truly touches us and I believe it helps them to continue to grow in their walk with The Lord too!
May God continue to Bless you both and continue to provide these heartwarming stories! Love you both and so proud of your walk with Christ and how you are allowing Him to guide your every step, word and action🙏.
